Extended Abstracts


Please read the instructions carefully and submit your manuscript before 14 August 2009.

Extended abstracts will be published electronically and copyright of your manuscript will stay with you.

A special issue of the Journal of Industrial Ecology will feature selected contributions from LCM2009. Please see the call for papers . Your extended abstract would be a good starting point for responding to this call.

Instructions for preparing extended abstracts

Please note that manuscripts will published as received (i.e. it is up to you to ensure the correct formatting of your manuscript).

• Please use the template provided.

• Manuscripts must be written in English

• The maximum length of each paper is 6 pages

• The file size should not exceeded 2 MB (PDF file).

• Figures and diagrams may be in colour.

• A PDF is the preferred method of submission (as the manuscripts will be published electronically as PDF files). If files are sent as word documents, the conference organisers are not responsible for any errors or loss in quality of pictures or graphs during conversion to PDF.

• Please do not put security settings to the PDF file.

Formatting of Manuscripts

Please use the Manuscript Template provided.

Title page: The first page should contain the title (max. 12 words), the author name(s), the affiliation(s), and the key words (up to 5 keywords).

Font and Size: Use 10 point font “Arial” on your manuscript. Use 14 point font “Arial” for the title and 9 point font “Arial” for the figure and table captions.

Figures, Tables, and Photographs: The captions of figures should be numbered consecutively throughout the text and should be placed below the figure. The captions of tables should also be numbered consecutively and placed above the table.

Mathematical Equations should be centred between left and right margins and separated by one blank line. All equations should be numbered consecutively, using Arabic numerals in parentheses along the right margin.

References: The first time a particular source (article, book, etc.) is cited in the text it should be assigned a number and placed in the list of references at the end of the paper. Each time this source is cited in the text it should be referred to by its original number. Each number should be placed in brackets at the end of the referenced phrase and before any final punctuation mark, e.g. as [2].
