Short Presentations with Posters
Posters
Poster shall be hung up for the duration of the conference (from Monday morning). Posters will be attached with velcro strips, which will be provided.
If you are unable to present your poster, you are responsible for arranging an alternative presenter. Your presence is required during the designated short presentation session (“snap-shot” poster presentation and discussion) and at the poster session on the Monday evening (6pm).
Format: Posters shall be no larger than A0, and shall be vertical. Poster text should be legible from a distance. A minimum font size of 7 mm is suggested.
Submission: Please email an A4 version of you poster to lcmposters@tgh.co.za by 28 August 2009. Maximum email attachment size is 10 MB (creating a zip file of your presentation may help in reducing the file size). Colour A4 (small) copies of your poster will be distributed to delegates attending the short presentation session to facilitate discussion. Emailed posters will also be published electronically and distributed to all delegates. Please note, you are still responsible for the large format print version of your poster (i.e. you must bring with you a large format print version of your poster to be displayed on the poster boards).
Short presentations
Time: Short presentations are limited to 5 minutes (a maximum of 4 slides). Presentations running over-time will be stopped to ensure there is time for discussion. Please only highlight one or two key results of your research and try to get the audience interested in attending your poster. Do not show more than fourslides.
Please also be prepared to entertain questions and join in discussion after all the short presentations have been completed.
Submission: Please bring a full copy of your presentation on a USB key to the conference.
Please report to the technical in the break before your session to upload your presentation.
Format: Presentations should be Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft PowerPoint 97-2003 compatible. To ensure proper formatting, please check on another computer that your presentation displays correctly.
Please introduce yourself to your session chair 10 minutes before the start of your session.
